Return of "Ban the Bra"?

Some researchers think they discovered a significant link between much higher rates of breast cancer and bras that are either too tight or are worn too long (longer than 12 hours a day). The results of this research are reported in a book called Dressed to Kill: The Link Between Breast Cancer and Bras, by Sydney Ross Singer and Soma Grismaijer (Avery Publishing Group).

Here are some of the study results:

• "Nearly twice the women with a history of cancer reported that their bras had always made red marks on their skin or caused irritations."
• "Six times as many women in the breast cancer group as in the standard group had regularly worn bras or breast-supporting garments to sleep."
• "When the women in the breast cancer group were asked if they wore their bras less than 12 hours a day, only 1 percent responded yes (in contrast to 20 percent of the women in the standard group)."

I am not totally sceptical of this information, but I would like to present a different view of this information.
