Zuora—powering the subscription economy--has a set of application programming interface (API) calls. This guide describes how to use the Zuora API.

An API is a set of pre-created packages of code that you can use to perform a variety of specific actions. In this case, the Zuora API is a set of objects and calls that you can use to create your own custom application that interfaces with the Zuora system, and to create and manage accounts, customer contact information, and much more.

Your customers can use your custom application to create and manage their subscriptions to your service. That application captures all the needed data from your customers, then connects with the Zuora database so that Zuora can manage the billing end of your business.

Before You Use the API provides information on what you need (a compatible development environment, access to the Zuora Web site, and so on) in order to use the API.
API Foundations provides programming information as it applies specifically to this API: data types, error handling, the WSDL, and so on.
The API Reference provides individual pages for every call and object in the API. Each page contains detailed information on what the call or object does and how to use it.
