Before Atlantis was destroyed (and the world nearly with it), a distinct two-layer social structure had developed.
- At the top layer were the Atlanteans. The Atlanteans did not see themselves as a single racial type, nor were they; instead, they were composed of those people who, through their interests and talents, showed themselves as belonging to the group. Atlanteans at this time had developed a strong interest in global matters.
- The other, bottom layer was everyone else: All those people and groups of people who preferred to live their lives more locally.
The Governing Group
The governing group consisted of a group of people, all Atlanteans, who were united in a single purpose: To govern the world so well that everyone would be content and no one would think of doing unsocial things. Interestingly enough, this did not include preventing local conflicts. What it meant was that, overall, if you went to any group of people on the globe, no one would have any complaints about the Atlanteans or even about their lives. If they were involved in some local conflict, they knew that they were free to resolve it in a direct fashion, without interference, including fighting with and even killing each other if that was what they felt like doing.
Atlanteans were chosen out of the world population based on their interests. Some eagerly sought membership in the governing group; others were found and asked if they would like to join. Joining the governing group was a privilege and an honor, but also carried many responsibilities. Therefore, it was never forced; if someone chose not to join, that choice was respected.
The Rulers of the Governing Group
The Atlanteans as a group were governed by a world-wide network of governors. Each continent had a governor who reported to one ruler at the very top. At the end of Atlantis, the ruler was a young male who looks East Indian to me: Very dark skin, black hair, dark eyes. He was also very short—perhaps 5 feet tall (152.4 cm) at most.
The ruler of the world was very aware and very powerful psychically as well as politically. However, he did not have any of the flaws that our modern politicians have. He was not power hungry, he did not womanize, he did not lie or cheat or steal or make shady deals behind closed doors. He did have a blind spot, as all Atlanteans did, and it was that cultural blind spot that ultimately brought about the end of the world. Unfortunately, he blames himself personally for not being able to save the world from what destroyed Atlantis. Fortunately, he is now in a position where he can learn the full reasons for that destruction. I will discuss that blind spot in more detail in the next article.
The ruler of the world was in communication with the governors of each continent—what we now call North America, South America, the Australian region (consisting of not just what is now the continent of Australia, but what were then connected islands in the surrounding waters), Africa, India and the Himalayas, and so on. The regions were chosen partly because of geographic distinctness but also because of the energies of those regions as a whole. One might say that each continent was seen as having its own spirit.
Each of those continental governors was in charge of his or her particular continent. Some of the governors were women, some were men. For example, the South American governor was a woman. Atlantean culture was not sexist, and people held positions according to their individual strengths and talents regardless of their origins, gender, or any other consideration. Most of the events that occurred were handled at the continental level; the world ruler, who was based on Atlantis itself, kept in touch with everything and made sure that the world as a whole was running smoothly and without problems.
Each of the continental governors were highly psychic and had abilities that exceeded those of most psychics today. They could focus on an area in their mind and be taken there as an energy image, able to speak with people at the site and even interact with objects there. They could also use their airships to travel very rapidly from one place to another—far more quickly and efficiently than today's known forms of air travel.
All the Atlantean governors, including the world ruler, wore headpieces that might at first glance look like light crowns made of strips of metal, complete with gems and crystals, but they were functional pieces of headgear that enhanced psychic abilities while protecting from certain energies.
Other Roles in Atlantean Society
Atlantean society was very rich in many ways. Every Atlantean enjoyed a standard of living that very few people today can match. Each person was free to use their talents and abilities to whatever degree they wished. There were scientists and artists of every kind, along with a soldier class, a group of spiritual counselors and advisors (each of whom was free to form his or her own ideas of how the world worked and what humanity's place in the universe was), a set of predictive time-path choosers (whom I will call “probability choosers”), building designers and constructors, and so on. (I deliberately refrain from using the term “architect” because Atlantean building designers also helped construct the buildings and stuctures they designed.) Just about any role you can imagine was fulfilled in Atlantean society.
Atlantean Science and Technology
Most of the Atlantean scientists were far more advanced than most of our most advanced scientists today. With the discoveries of Nikola Tesla, we have begun to recover some of the Atlantean science knowledge, though in the case of Tesla's work, it seems we are giving it a more martial application. The technology that Edward Leedskalnin developed to single-handedly move his large blocks of stone is also a resurfacing of one of the Atlantean techniques for moving heavy objects. This technique, along with many others, survived into early Egyptian times.
In other fields of science, Atlanteans understood genetics and were able to work with genetic material far more accurately than we do today. Again, early Egyptians also understood genetics, though by then the available tools and equipment were much inferior to what the Atlanteans had had. The Atlantean understanding of genetics led to some problems as scientists at the time attempted to improve certain species (the horse, for example). Yet, although they made mistakes, the Atlantean scientists had one enormously important difference from scientists of today: They were all highly ethical and did not, as some people have said, experiment in the way that our modern scientists do. Atlantean scientists always had some positive goal they were working toward, with the aim of improving the world in some way. This doesn't mean that they knew and understood everything—which is why they made mistakes—but it does mean that overall, their intentions were toward bettering human society. This desire to improve and help humanity as a whole was used to develop crops and growing techniques that could be used at high altitudes, such as in South America. They also developed many other useful plants.
I mentioned the probability choosers. These Atlanteans were able to see into the future—see the many possible futures, I should say—and, more remarkably, were then able to select a desired future out of the possibilities that they saw. We all do this unconsciously; what is remarkable about this is that these probability choosers did it consciously. One of the mistakes they made is that they didn't always understand what was going on, and so they would make choices that had wider repercussions than they expected. For example, before Atlantis was destroyed, probability choosers noticed that many animals were leaving the continent of Atlantis, and also that the plants on that continent were dying. This could have—should have—been seen as a warning. But it wasn't. Without asking themselves why, or asking themselves what knowledge the plants and animals might have that they did not, they instead searched for a probable future timeline in which the plants did not die out and the animals didn't leave. What they chose in doing so was a timeline in which the plants and animals were much less aware of and in communication with the world and the future probabilities. So when disaster struck, Atlanteans were much less prepared.
Atlanteans also had a clean power source that used crystals, at least to a great extent. The energy produced could be sent over long distances without the need for wires. This use of crystals was developed jointly with the aliens who had come to earth about 30,000 years ago, as mentioned in the earlier article, The Origins of Atlantis. Crystals were also used to produce a wonderful kind of light; sometimes chunks of what seem to be crystals randomly growing together with oxidized metal are actually remnants of these lamps. There is a temple on an island in southern Egypt that was destroyed through unknown means; what I read psychically at that site is that the temple was hit by a beam of energy. Whether it was a backlash from energy being sent from a source, where the source was disrupted somehow, or a deliberate attack, I wasn't sure. This energy was the same type of energy used by the Atlanteans, though I think the year in which the temple was destroyed was a long time after Atlantis was destroyed.
Keeping the Peace
The Atlanteans had a sort of soldier class. I say “sort of” because many of the images and ideas we have today about soldiers do not apply. (Though some of our older images and ideas faintly echo the Atlantean soldier class.) It might be more accurate to think of them as knights. Honor, integrity, single-minded dedication to their mission—all these things characterized the knights of Atlantis. However, instead of riding on horses and carrying lances, shields, and swords, they had a different array of weaponry and rode in small, fast aircars.
The knights had a sort of armor that integrated with their bodies—when I see this psychically, I most often see this as being attached to a single arm, starting at the shoulder and covering one arm completely. These shoulder/arm pieces seemed to be connected into the nervous system energetically (i.e., not physically). There were also other armor pieces for the body and legs. An incredible dense complex of circuits involving crystals and what looks like a multi-colored plasma-type energy were integrated into these armor pieces. (I see the colors of these energies as white, purple, green, and, to a lesser extent, yellow.) These armor pieces immensely multiplied the strength of the wearers; they were also capable of being used as tools and as weapons. They could generate an enormously powerful beam of energy, for example.
There was usually a knight assigned to each town. Larger towns might have more, but for the most part, one knight was sufficient. Sometimes they were assigned to work in pairs. Their mere presence, along with the knowledge of what they were capable of doing, was generally sufficient to keep people behaving properly.
The Rest of the World
So what about these towns? Who was living in them, and why did they accept the world-wide Atlantean rule? At the time, there were people living with technologies from extremely primitive to Atlantean. Much of it was a matter of choice; some people simply did not want to use many of the Atlantean technologies, though it would have been hard to find any group of people who did not benefit in some way from Atlantean technology and culture. There were many people who lived in the Atlantean cities, even the central governmental towns, who were not included in the Atlantean class. These were people who didn't have the talents or inclinations to belong to that layer of society. Some who did have the talents simply did not want the responsibilities.
Therefore, like today's world, where there is a wide range of cultures and levels of technology, during late Atlantean times, there was also a wide range of cultures and levels of technology. If people wanted to indulge in a local war, they could, though such conflicts were closely monitored by Atlanteans to make sure that only those people who wanted to participate did so.
Perhaps the most noteworthy aspect of this world culture is that people pretty much behaved. They behaved either because they were evolved enough to know that integrity, ethics, honesty, honor, respect, kindness, and so on were the way to be, or they behaved because they knew that they could not escape from the consequences. Unfortunately, as Plato once remarked (I am not quoting exactly here), what good is a society in which people have no choice but to be good? Ultimately, that is what caused the downfall of Atlantis—people had no choice but to be good, and their souls were crying out for more choices, which leads us to the next article in this series.
